Last Saturday when the rain falls started until the next day where one of the most awaited event was scheduled especially for those who wants to get their 3rd Medal in Run United Leg 3. In this leg the distance is 32km also known the Afroman Distance a great preparation for the runners who are looking forward to join the Philippine Marathon this coming October 2012 or a full marathon distance.
I wasn’t able to join the event due to my full schedules and I don’t have enough training. But I also feel the great challenge encountered of all the running enthusiasts when the rain never stops from Bonifacio Global City (Starting Line) to SM Mall of Asia ( Finish Line) when the 32km and 21km participants take-off.
We, Sigue Correr! Runners is one of the running team who participated and witnessed the outstanding performance of every runner, they pushed their limits even though the rain is annoying but for the others It was fun and memorable. Some of our teammates participated the events and the others assigned as a photographer, medical and support.
Deploying a support for the team is one of the practices we do to sure that every member of our team are safe, injury free and have a memorable shot in every stage they are taking up. We have groups that will assist in case our teammates needed our support along the route. They are deployed in different parts of the race track, the first team from Bonifacio they walked to SM Mall of Asia, the second team standby at Buendia Flyover and Cuneta Astrodome, third group assigned in the lower category and the last group are staying in SM Mall of Asia to cheer and received the Sigue Correr! Runner finishers.
We conquered from 01:30 in the morning to show a full support to our Sigue Correr! Runners and other participants. Same as the runners it was a big challenge for us this rain falls because we can’t locate a nice view to take some photos 😦 But, despite this heavy rain we made it again to put painkillers as a support to our runners and teammates to lessen the pain they feel on their legs to continue their goal, crossing the finish line.
It’s not easy to conquer the four cities, Bonifacio Global City, Makati City, Pasay City and Parañaque City but we are born into this lifestyle that’s why we are here we run on the same track, we push ourselves on the same goals and we live on the same passion, running!
On my part though I haven’t the last piece of my medal I’m glad that I am one of the support who gave a memorable moment to all the runners and for my teammates. After the support we made to our runners when we met the last runner of our team we headed to SM Mall of Asia to meet the other members and wait them to the finish line.
While we are waiting we decided to fetch our last two teammates to run with them until they reach the finish line, that’s why this was the great part of the event where most of the SIGUE CORRER! RUNNERS ran to accommodate the whole track approaching to the finish line.
