Quezon City is known for its most populous city in the country, and the largest city by area in Metro Manila wherein popular establishments are situated. And for the running community Quezon City is the venue of one of the most anticipated races since 2009 except last year – Quezon City International Marathon. This 2014, QCIM has a novel concept, a new set of date, bigger and better in line with the celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of Quezon City (Diamond Jubilee with a theme of Future Perfect). It runs along a night run and there will be no 42k as the longest distance on this year’s QCIM Night Run. This year’s race caters only four categories 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K, that aims to encourage more people and have a gratifying experience in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the city.
Consistent to the tradition the event will set to take place in the most popular spot of the city, Quezon Memorial Circle and this is open for QC and non-QC participants but there’s a particular category for Quezon City residents. In summation, the event also aims to heighten consciousness around climate change and hoping to get more volunteers for the AIDS Society of the Philippines as beneficiary together with Climate Change Campaign in this year’s race.
