Most of our beliefs even myself that every mankind on this awesome planet has its own path, some of them are satisfied with the condition of life and some of them are not especially those who are suffering in living difficulties but despite of all challenges it fades because of the presence and support showed by their families. It’s an opposite to the feelings  of the unconscious children and people who have been victims of weakness and carelessness, Whoever does not feel the real nurture & love and I am referring to the poor abandoned children.

Immediately, you will realize where you belong, yes! You got it right we are one of the lucky human beings in this world apart from we have the capacity to eat three times a day, we have also families willing to sympathize when we are in times of trouble.
Unlike those people in the orphanage seeking incomparable wellness-care, who only known and regarded family was the people who was victims of negligence as well.

To give them hope in life there are various organizations with great and generous heart who are welcome to accept the responsibility as parents for these poor orphaned and abandoned children, one of them is the Tahanan ng Pagmamahal orphanage.

(A group of orphanages for boys, girls and abandoned babies)

The couple Rey and Myrna Ortega, resident of Pasig, Metro Manila, moved by the staggering statistics on orphaned and abandoned children in the Philippines, decided in 2006 to organize an orphanage to provide shelter for some of those marginalized children.

They gathered some friends who shared their vision of reaching out to marginalized children and babies. After a half year of planning, regular discussions and analysis of the moral and legal implications of the project, their group of fifteen (15) Christian individuals decided to establish an orphanage in Metro Manila.

On May 8, 2007 the orphanage was formally organized and blessed with a Holy Mass as Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home, Inc.

The orphanage was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, DSWD, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Mayor’s Office, SSS and local government regulatory agencies.
The first orphanage was established in Melendres Homes subdivision in Taytay, Rizal. Due to water supply problems, the orphanage was transferred to another subdivision in Cainta, Rizal.

However, the homeowners of the Cainta subdivision filed a formal complaint against the proposed orphanage, claiming the children will be noisy and could create problems with the residents’ children.

So in August 2007, the orphanage was transferred to Malinao, Pasig and later, to a rented house in Bgy. Oranbo, Pasig City in January 2008.

Due to the increasing number of children, the trustees rented another house to provide a shelter exclusively for boys and have the Pasig shelter be an exclusive home for girls.

The home for boys, still called Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home, Inc. was set up in November 2010 in a rented house in SFDM in Quezon City.

In Febuary 2012, a third orphanage was founded to provide a home for abandoned babies. This is located in Mandaluyong City.

Then from out of the blue, a kindhearted donor Tina Legaspi was moved with compassion when she saw the children and babies being taken cared of in Tahanan ng Pagmamahal.

Tina bought a 500 square meter lot in Dr. Pilapil St., Pasig and offered it in March 2012 to Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, on the condition that she will donate it completely if it will be used exclusively as the site of a permanent orphanage.

The Tahanan trustees gratefully accepted the offer and planned to raise the funds necessary to build an orphanage.

A kindhearted architect Jun Raymundo offered his services pro bono and drew up the architectural plans for a three (3) storey orphanage with a total floor area of 900 square meters.

The orphanage is being managed by an 11-man board of trustees, two religious nuns, two licensed social workers, a nurse, several stays-in housemothers and live-out volunteers.

The trustees/directors serve without salary just as the volunteers receive no compensation for their services. All the rest is given modest compensation.

The orphanage ministry survives purely by Divine Providence. Donors give cash, rice, canned goods, noodles, vegetables, bath soap and other toiletries, clothes, hand-me-down appliances and furniture, etc.

Eventually, Affinity comes up into a meaningful decision, organized a race event for the benefit of TAHANAN NG PAGMAMAHAL CHILDREN’S HOME dubbed as RAISE D’ ROOF – THE AFFINITEA RUN FOR A CAUSE which proceeds will use to build a new roof for the children of the orphanage – one of the problems facing by the organization.
