SIARGAO IT UP for the benefit of the Del Carmen Mangroves

Philippines is composed of 7,107 beautiful islands. Every island has its own hidden beauties and characteristics that will entice you to visit.

Most of you landed in various destinations of the country, had a chance to explore the depths of the ocean, glimpsed the surprisingly wonderful landscape and of course, the majority had the opportunity to chase and play with gigantic waves thru surfing and more – all I can say is, yes indeed, It’s more fun in the Philippines. But everything has an end and bounds especially if we are unable to reproduce, preserve and protect our environment.

This November 16, 2013 on the initiative and overwhelming support of Shore IT UP ( a corporate Social Responsibility of Metro Pacific Investment Foundation from the MVP Group of Companies in conjunction with the celebration of its 5th year) with the presence of the Vice President for PR Corporate Communications Ms. Melody Del Rosario together with Del Carmen, Siargao Island LGU’s headed by Mayor Alfredo Coro II and Without Limits team (Event organizer) they successfully shared the upcoming and considered marks as new of one of the prestigious events in the country & in the history of running community dubbed as SIARGAO IT UP in the media launch last October 02, 2013 at Society Lounge located in Makati. The event aims to promote the DEL CARMEN Mangroves in Siargao through healthy lifestyle as well.

After that night, I felt excited to create this write-up which gives me more interest in running, because I’m so lucky to be one of the bloggers who had a chance to hear the informative information about SIARGAO and how SHORE IT UP led in spreading the awareness of sustainable development, preservation and conservation of our country’s diverse and rich marine resources in order to help mitigate the increasingly destructive of climate change. They achieved and swimmingly implemented to four destinations such as Puerto Galera, Zambales , Anilao, Lingayen Gulf and Siargao this year. Shore it up is also a multi-awarded and Internationally recognized for its achievements in rescuing, restoring and reviving of our environment.

“The interests brought to us to become part of this run event aside from focusing on environmental concerns we would like also to help promote SIARGAO island to be one of the best destination and huwag maging dayuhan SA sariling bayan which instead using the SHORE IT UP we decided to use SIARGAO IT UP so this island will be the highlight and become more popular to all of us” said by Ms. Melody Del Rosario.

And for the Siargao, from the convincing speech of Mayor JR and Ralph Baltazar on the Island, I’m telling you that you should include Siargao in your travel bucket lists adventure in the future. Siargao island is located 800 kilometers southeast of Manila with approximately 437 sq.m, been hosting surfing camp in the past 18 years on their 19 surfing areas all around the island and that makes Siargao a favorite all-year-round surfing destination.

“The experience in the Island of Siargao is more unique than you have experienced before elsewhere” by Mayor JR

The promised uttered by race director Ian Alacar that this event is going to be one the most exciting run and adventure that will leave a never-to-be-forgotten footprints on the island thus only 200 slots from Manila will be accommodated to join the event the rest will be from nearby provinces and local participants.
